O.T. Fabricating is a locally owned and operated metal fabrication company based in Richmond, BC.

Founded in 1994, the company began as a job-shop-style fabrication business producing custom aluminum molds, sanitation tanks and a wide variety of miscellaneous welded and fabricated components.

Austin Shears joined the company in 2000 and took over its operation in 2015. Since then, O.T. Fabricating has continued to build on its custom fabrication roots while investing in new machinery, technology and business systems to expand its capabilities and keep pace with a changing industry.

That evolution has included expanding into structural aluminum and structural steel fabrication, along with larger commercial, industrial, institutional and multi-family projects.

Today, O.T. Fabricating provides structural steel, miscellaneous metals, aluminum and stainless steel fabrication, certified welding and on-site installation. From one-off custom components to multi-phase construction packages, we take ownership of our scope and work closely with our clients to deliver practical, complete solutions.

A lot has changed since we first opened our doors, but our values haven’t. We’re still hands-on, still take pride in what we do, and still believe that great work speaks for itself.

1994 — Established

O.T. Fabricating is founded as a custom fabrication and welding business in Richmond, BC.

2000 — Second Generation

Austin Shears joins O.T. Fabricating and begins working in the family business.

2016 — Certified Aluminum Welding

O.T. Fabricating achieves CWB certification to CSA W47.2, Division 2 for fusion welding of aluminum.

2019 — Certified Steel Welding

O.T. Fabricating achieves CWB certification to CSA W47.1, Division 2 for fusion welding of steel, supporting the company’s expansion into structural steel fabrication.
